High Emission Scenario Substantially Damages China's Photovoltaic Potential

چکیده
Quantifying future changes in solar photovoltaic (PV) potential is of great significance for energy planning and policy making to achieve carbon neutrality. To constrain the uncertainties applying directly Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) projections such quantification, we construct performance-weighted CMIP6 irradiance air temperature data, then assess China's PV accompanying economic benefits under three typical climate change scenarios. We find that high emission scenario will substantially damage potential, resulting a reduction 314 TWh/year electricity generation by planned installed capacity 2100, with corresponding loss US $25 billion/year. However, low enhance yielding an additional 226 bonus $18 billion/year 2100. commitment neutrality lead low-carbon emissions, which brings rewards its industry.

Potential climate engineering effectiveness and side effects during a high carbon dioxide-emission scenario
The realization that mitigation efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions have, until now, been relatively ineffective has led to an increasing interest in climate engineering as a possible means of preventing the potentially catastrophic consequences of climate change. While many studies have addressed the potential effectiveness of individual methods there have been few attempts to compare t...
متن کاملScenario based technique applied to photovoltaic sources uncertainty
There is an increasing need to forecast power generated by photovoltaic sources in day-ahead power system operation. The electrical energy generated by these renewable sources is an uncertain variable and depends on solar irradiance, which is out of control and depends on climate conditions. The stochastic programming based on various scenarios is an efficient way to deal with such uncertaintie...
متن کاملHeliopause radio emission scenario
Heliospheric (HSP) radio emission detected by the Voyager spacecraft between 1.8 kHz and 3.6 kHz from the distant heliosphere is interpreted as emission generated close to and at the heliopause (HP), the interface between the ionised very local interstellar (LIC) gas and the supersonic solar wind (SW) stream. Radio emission is assumed to be triggered by secondary charge exchange ionisation of i...
متن کاملHigh-energy Emission from Pulsars: the Polar Cap Scenario
The study of pulsars in the three and a half decades since their discovery has highlighted a handful of issues critical to their understanding. To date there is no consensus on the physical mechanism for their radio radio emission, despite a rapid increase in the observed population due to the Parkes Multi-Beam survey and prospects for similar growth in the radio population database in the near...
متن کاملEutrophication of U.S. freshwaters: analysis of potential economic damages.
Human-induced eutrophication degrades freshwater systems worldwide by reducing water quality and altering ecosystem structure and function. We compared current total nitrogen (TN) and phosphorus (TP) concentrations for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency nutrient ecoregions with estimated reference conditions. In all nutrient ecoregions, current median TN and TP values for rivers and lakes...
